    Post Major Whew!!

In Motherboards I posted about an ECS board THAT I NEARLY RUNIED. I ended up replacing it with an MSI board. Anyway, brought the pc back to the owner and set it up. Sound working, helped him get set up on Internet through AOL. I Know I know, but 1000 hours free..and what do I care when I have to fix his computer at his expense? Anyway, showed him how to work printer, log in (win2000) etc. Two days later I get a call from him saying he can't connect to AOL, he speaks ok english but better spanish so his son, age 11, gets on and tells me AOL has error messages. The son is smart so I walk through soe procedures and ask seeral question. Somehow AOL craps out. Wheterh do to user error or just AOL, I couldn't even guess. Anyway, Isay lets reinstall. The son tells me that the dad broke the CD. I asked how? he says he was taking it out and it broke! I say is the CD-Rom ok? Is that broke. Son misunderstands and repeats that the Cd-Rom is broken. I say ok, I'll be over tomorrow.

I go over and much to my releif AOL had come in one of those plastic DVD cases that open like a book. You need to grasp an edge of CD and push the middle with your thumb to get it out. Well dad just grabbed the edge and yanked, breaking the CD in half! Never got to the CD-Rom. So I got another AOL disk, of which he had about 20 or so in a desk drawer and re-installed AOL. Then fixed printer which they said wasn't working. Apparently some one had deleted it from the printer properties and installed the first printer in list twice, the AFGA or whatever printer name. This time, before i left, I printed instruction in both english and Spanish, with the help of the son of course... So far MSI board is kicking *** .

Wonderful wonderful AOL. By the way, I just got my MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU and it's a godsend. This board is pretty kick@$$ especially with the on board raid. Now I just have to find something that will support USB2.0 so I can test these puppies out. Definately recommend this board.

Ach! I am jealous. That's the board I am going to get beginning of the year..I wish Santa would buy it for me, but she's been tapped out...Everywhere I've been the reviews say it's an outstanding board. They say it's not a speed demon, so overclockers might be weary, but if you want a stable board, this is the one to get. For me, since CPU prices, especially AMD, are dirt cheap, I don't need to overclock. I just gonna get a Duron 900, and when the XPs start coming down I will pick up a 1500 in a few months...

Please let me know how this board performs....

Oh yeah!! The MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU rocks! Just got it installed yesterday without incident and running great. Gotta love the RAID, Athlon XP 1800+ and 3 GB RAM support!

Yea, I have 2X Maxtor 40gig running Raid0 and it is excellent. The stability is unmatched and I had not a single problem with full installation include Raid array setup. That, matched with the Ferrari Red PCB, has sold me. And it was about time I made the switch to DDR. The one complaint I do have about the board is it starts yelling at you everytime if you don't have a fan plugged into the CPU header and it has to do with the DLED header. I have a Fop38 with a 3-4 pin converter but I hooked the plug from my blue orb up to the main header and it quit yelling at me. Other than that, I am thoroughly impressed and amazed at the ease of use with this board. Manual seems a little long winded in places but the only good that thing does me is something to do while DOS is formatting an 80gig raid array. That took a nice long while
