    Question Kilo Mega Giga Exa Tera...??

    Hello all!

    This is a questions more so for a math major then us computer techies, but since we deal closely with the bytes = whatever number, someone might know this one.

    Ok here we go and never mind the actual number i.e 1024kb = 1MB;

    Ok as we all know

    Kilobyte is 1000 bytes (one thousand)
    Megabyte is 1,000,000 bytes (one million)
    Gigabyte is 1,000,000,000 bytes (one billion)
    Terabyte is 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (one trillion)
    Exabyte is 1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes (one WHAT?)

    What is the real number for Exabyte? Zillon is not a number. Gazillion is not either.

    Does anyone know what it is?

    I would love to find out

    Thanks all!

    I would hazard a guess at Quadrillion

    As Darren has said, it is known as a Quadrillion in the US.

    In England it is called a Thousand Billion.

    Quadrillion? OK that sounds familuar. Do you have a point of reference on that? Its not that I dont believe you, I just want to look it up for myself and see what might be the number after that (besides quadrillion and one)

    Thanks!
