Dont Attack a computer with sissors
The other day I got a computer in which needed a hardrive added, so I was thinking oh this will be ez. Well the power cables were tied up with these little plastic clips. The only way to get them off was to cutt them. Well I didnt have any wire snips or anything, but I did see a pair of sissors on my desk. I picked up the sissors and sliped one side of the blade under the clip. Now this clip is very very old about 11 years old. I move the case into a angle to make it aiser to cut. When I applyed pressure to get the blade under the clip to get a grip to cutt it, the clip broke. POP*. My hand then sliped and slid all the way up the side of the open case. Now this was an old case about 11 years old, all dusty and everything. I look at my finger which was all bloody, and I was like ahh this will just need a band aid to fix it. Well I told my supervisor and she looked at it and she started to freak, the top part of my finer was sliced very bad. So they rushed me to the hospital. To mkae the story short, I almost cutt off my finger, cutt the bone and got 6 stiches on the top of the finger. Now that wasnt bad, the bad thing was that when the doc went to stich me, he gave me two shots at first then didnt wait for my finger to get numb, well you guessed it, I felt everything the doc did. Every little stich I felt in my finger, I didnt say anything, y? Well I hate going to the docstors, so I just wanted to get out as fast as possible. All I did was look at the blinding light and bite my lip, so heres a warning...

Do you leak any fluids, do you have any bumps on your rear, do you have any unpleasant odors?
If you answered yes to any of these then you are not qualified to own a new AMD ATHLON XP.
If someone ask you if you are running the all-new fastest AMD ATHLON XP, just turn around and reply "WHY YES, AND ITS CERTIFIED"

I got 6 stitches from opening up a can before, sliced my thumb at the joint pretty good. I still have partial feeling in that thumb.

Geez! As I read that post I actually had to grab my own fingers... That sounded REALLY painful... I just managed to cut myself on a computer case last month... I was carrying a case with the front cover off, (with one hand placed in the front of the case like a handle) when suddenly I lost my grip. So my first reaction was to try to grab it by the side, which was also removed. As it hit the floor, my "Other" finger, which was now wedged in between, the case and the Power Supply did not come loose. Just the skin...
Still have a scar, and I no longer carry machines around with one hand...
On a side note, the HDD that would not format in the box suddenly started to work. All on its own...
I just told everyone that I knew of an OLD JEDI technique, that I would reveal to No ONE...

Yes, they bite, nasty gits too.
Last year I was moving an old PC with sharp edges (not like the nice rounded and smooth metal we have now), it started to slip and cut straight through the end of my finger.
So I'm standing there, the pc *nearly* hit my foot, blood pouring down my hand and dripping on the floor. As luck would have it I was working in the Medical library at the University, and had to say the immortal line "'xcuse me, is there a Doctor in the house".
The first Aider on duty took a look and said "Ohh, thats a nisty nic, come on I'll take you downstairs to casualty". 2 hours later (because I am still breathing, you do not count as an emergency), i finally get stitched up. I still have a little scar to show for it.
You haven't been working in PC's long unless you have a few battle scars, to show for it.
Good day to be alive, sir
Good day to be alive he says, yeah

My wife was wearing sandals and she slipped on an escalator and sliced open her toe. Probably the most painful place to get freezing is in your toe <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0">

2 days ago i was punching the little floppy cover off the front of a new machine, it had a little piece of metal behind it, for what reason i dont know, but anyways i took a long handled screwdriver and pushed it up against the metal plate and it gave way then i put the screwdriver against the plastic face plate and gave it one good hard shot to knock it out and sure enough it did, but on the inside of the cases we just got there are little metal guides for hard drives and floppy drives to sit on and sure enought it sliced my knucke about an inch long right to the bone. boy did that hurt. it was as thin as a paper cut so i didnt bother with hospital or stiches, just taped it up with the backplate of a case to keep it straight, but there is a nice war wound scar forming. now every time im asked to build a new machine i look at the floppy drive and drop down in to the fetal position and start to shake
