I had a customer (read: Temp) who insisted that the machine I sold to the site was broken and that I needed to come out IMMEDIATELY and fix it. Now I was over an hour away and had a two hour minimum repair time (read: $85/hr.) so I did not wish to go all the way out there and turn the machine on. So I was trying to talk her through some basic trouble shooting - things like:
me: "Is the power on"
her: "I've been pushing the spacebar all day long and the machine won't come on"
me: "Did you push the POWER button"
her: "Like I said I've been hitting the space bar all morning and you need to come here NOW and fix it, it's is your machine and it's broken - you need to come here now."
me: "Ok, it's under warranty and I am happy to come out, but if the machine is not broken then you will be billed for the minimum service call."
her: "That's fine. the machine is broken and YOU need to come fix it."
Well I got to the site, walked up to the machine, pushed the power button, and - you guessed it - the machine powered right up and worked liek a champ. Easy - $170 and that temp was never invited back to the site.
