[RESOLVED] New Email, This is interesting
Some of you may have seen some previous posts from me concerning some of my customers emails. As I work in an E-Commerce division of a large television retailer, we get some pretty interesting questions about some of our products, especially our computers. Figured I'd try to brighten some days up with this interesting one. Anyone know how I should reply?
I WANTED TO KNOW IF THE AMD ATHLON 1.3GHz WAS AVAILABLE AND IS THIS SYSTEM EQUIVALENT TO THE PENTIUM 200 PROCESSOR?

I haven't as of yet. When I do respond, I wonder if I should do so with a technical response or just a bunch of hahahahahaha?

Forget technical response, put it in a language they can understand:
The AMD Athlon 1.3 Gigahertz is to a Pentium 200 as a Ferrari Testarossa is to a Toyota Corolla.

Computer hardware is largely idiot proof. If it fits somewhere, thats where it goes. Software on the other hand....well, just look at microsoft.

I always found it a bit disconcerting to drive a car made by the same people who make computer monitors.

Posts look pretty stupid without the signature, so here it is.

Doesn't Mitsusbishi (sp?) make some sort of electonic device?
It's really funny because in Korea, Kia, Hyundai, and Deawoo all make things like buses, construction equipment, etc.

I eventually emailed them back saying that there was a gigantic performance gain as the pentium chip is quite old and our AMD 1.3ghz is a relatively new chip. They're telling Intel on me because they think I am being speculative in a market in which I should not take sides. What was it that Winnie the Pooh used to say? "Oh bother"
[sarcasm]
Man you just gotta love these people.
