Can't get P III 550 to run on any Mobo
I recently got a P III 550, and wanted to put it in my system. The older Epox 61bx-am did not support the P III, so I got a new Asus P2BF with the latest bios UG....
The machine hung intermittently. (In bios, dos, windows) I thought maybe the memory was bad, so I changed it for a PC100 Micron. Same thing. I had the CPU swapped....no luck.
Since then, I've tried two other Mainboards, with the same problem. The boards tried were Abit BX6 R2, and the Soyo SY6BA+. Both with the latest bios updates.
What gives?
Any input would be appreciated.
As a side note, all these combinations worked flawlessly with a P III 500.
The rest of my system stuff are....
16MB CL Banshee AGP, SB PCI 128, Kenwood True 52X CD-ROM, IBM Deskstar 10GXP HDD.
Help!
