Why MS? Why???
Has anyone ever tried to find a piece of software that used to be freely downloadable from Microsoft, only to find out that is seems to no longer exist?
Go there and try to download, or even find IIS 4.0...or even order the Option Pack 4 cd...
Why does MS do this? How am I supposed to get hands on exp. with IIS without an updated copy?

It's still there, goto http://www.microsoft.com/NTServer/all/downloads.asp
I think this is where I downloaded the option pack. If I find different, I'll repost it.

Here's the option pack. The previous link was for other NT Server 4 Downloads.
http://www.microsoft.com/ntserver/nt...Pk/default.asp
BTW, this would have been better posted in the Windows NT forum.

The ActiveX Server components, ASP Scripts, and IDC/HXT Conversion tool are all that I can find...
Other than the dozens of security updates...

I would have to agree, it used to be easy to find stuff on MS's site, now it's a PITA.
If you can't find what you're looking for on MS's site, then try searching on Google. Maybe somebody has the file for download on their site instead of MS's.

A few years ago I searched the Knowledge Base for "Windows" and it came back with 0 entries found.
Although I don't blame 'em. I would deny all knowledge of Windows also if I produced it.

I have to agree on that too, but can't think of a reason why MS does that!

I think he meant this as a 'complain about microsoft post' not a 'i want this nt stuff post', so i does kind of belong in the lounge...so i guess it still is in the wrong section, oh well
