sis chipset and usb scanner problem
So, I bought a new scanner. Hooked it up. I'm excited. Usb. Much faster. What happened? No scanner? Device manager lists an unknown device under usb heading. I call the factory for visioneer. They can't help. The next day I turn my computer on and there it is! My computer finally sees it. Then I did something really, really stupid.....I turn the power off to save the bulb. I can't get it back. The scanner has its own power saver feature anyway-what was I thinking? I am changing my name to Dick....Because I am one. Any help?

What operating system and what model of visioneer? Windows ME is a stickler with scanners that have one touch buttons on them. I've battled Visioneer on this same topic and they refuse to admit that new drivers are needed yet will provide them under duress. You may want to check their web site http://www.visioneer.com/dynahome.html.
Good luck!

Thank you GG! I will try their web site as you suggest. Why did I get this thing working one day and now I can't? If it is a driver prob then how did I get it working at all?
