    Angry Is it just me???

Is it just me or is it that since everyone must now own a computer that the idiots are coming out of the woodwork?

I just sent a guy to prison for 90+ years for child pornography!

The system was brought in for a virus eradication and cleanup. Due to the area of infection a full system wipe and restore was recommended. The procedure was OK'ed and and a backup of important files was requested including all JPEG's. during the backup process we verify that the backup is not corrupted and in doing so came accross over 2000 JPEG's of minors in ...well you know.. and in the state of TX if you view this material on a persons computer and fail to report it the punishment is equal to that of any other child porn violater..

Needless to say the police now have him, his system and we had to hear from his family multiple times now..
I can win any argument with any computer made yet. Since they really haven't learned to fight back.

I've had a few customers similar to that where they refused to believe that somebody in THIER family would look at porn. It's always funny to listen to them but it gets old after a while. I once had a machine come in for a 'tuneup' and when I was looking around for misc stuff to get rid of I came across a 'home made movie'. Definately stuff I never wanted to see. 50 year olds should just not do that stuff or at least delete it after!

I work for US Customs. We recently prosecuted a 50 year old with over 5000 images. He was a president of an Union that assisted Air Force Personnel with financial decisions. He has now lost his job, has to serve 18 months (yes, months)since he did not have intent to distribute, and must now register no matter where he moves to as a sex offender. And he had these images on his work machine. Some people get their jollies of some unusual stuff

I was hired once to go look at a system and check to see if a teen was visiting bomb-making sites. Made me a little nervous--if the kid is into that stuff and I rat him out will he come over and practice on my place??? Fortunately, the system was clean although there was a bit of an adrenaline rush when I found a file titled 'blow-up.' It turned out to be a screen shot from a racing game.
