Red face No fuel No customers

Not only is business a little slow here in the UK but to make matters worse we also have the small problem of fuel shortages (lorry drivers have blocked all fuel refineries)this is starting to affect courier services meaning deliveries are not getting through to some parts of the UK.
So no stock means no customers no fuel means customers are not bringing their computers in for upgrades or to be fixed.
We have had to find ways to entertain ourselves the sales team are at this moment playing French bowls and the tech staff are having a pool tournament

I know what you mean. We aren't having shortages on this side of the pond yet, but our government is talking about breaking into their emergency stockpile incase of problems.
Right now my car burns about 10 litres/100 km, and it's a 100 km round trip to and from work...so, that works out to approximately $7.80/day in fuel just getting to work and home.

I drive a cruddy little Geo Metro which has pretty good fuel milage. I also just moved to a place 7 miles from work (it used to be 25 miles). Oh, and I moved from California (highest gas prices in the USA) to Kentucky (some of the lowest gas prices in the country). Seeing as how the USA has some of the lowest gas prices in the world, I guess I'm pretty well off.

Life isn't all that peachy though. I get a lousy 21k connection (sometimes 24 or 26k) to the Internet from home. There is no cable modem service, or ISDN, DSL, etc. in the area. Nothing but "56k!" Argh! Even if there were, my house is too far from a switching station to make the cut. If only DirectPC's startup costs were cheaper.
    Life sucks!!!

We just had a new gas station go up next to our store. They had their gas sale last weekend. The gas is normally about $1.45 and it went down to about $1.20. At 1.00 am in the morning the place still had over 1/2 the pumps busy. During the day you had to get in line.

Thank God for my little K-car , cheap to run and plenty of power from the rebuilt engine
runs like my PC which means it runs great, I sometimes have to travel across the city to help a sick PC
And this city is huge Calgary compares to Dallas in many ways including size
I hope this fuel shortage gets over with so you guys across the Atlantic can get back to work

Been following your situation on the news, really sucks. I saw tonight where you are starting to have food shortages too. I just hope that doesn't happen over here. Hope things get better for you soon.

    Unhappy

The lorry drivers have today ended their blockades of nearly all the UK refineries so the fuel trucks are now rolling.
One of the main problems now is that as soon as a petrol station receives some fuel and word gets out you end up with a huge traffic jam and within a few hours the fuel is all gone also the price of fuel is on the way up by about 2p on petrol and 4p on diesel
It is expected to take at least 15 days for things to get back to some sort of normality in the mean time there’s still no fuel for courier services or Joe public.
We have plenty of orders for computers but we either do not have all the parts for the ordered systems or there fully built boxed up but we have no couriers to pick them up.
Yep there are also some food shortages in small shops and the main supermarkets i.e. milk, bread and even tinned food.
The lorry drivers have given the government 60 days to sort something out or it all start again

Sorry for the long rambling post I’m just fed up with the whole situation.
