    Post Smokin Problem

Hi, Can anyone help with this odd problem, have not changed mobo or much else and today switched the machine on and smoke appeared to pour out of the machine, when I opened it up the speaker wire running from the speaker in the case connected to the mobo was black and smouldering, never had this problem before, disconnected the wire from mobo and machine boots up like nothing's happened can anyone give me a idea of what the hell is going on?

    Cheers.

you more than likely have the speaker wire plugged into the "power on" or "reset" jumper.

I would just leave that cable unplugged...

That happened to me once when I put a wire on backwards (positive on negative and negative on positive)...it wasn't happy about that and completly burned off the plasic and melted the wire. My wife was laughing so hard

Luckly nothing besides that wire was damaged and everything worked fine after I replaced the wire
    ...I don't get it...
