Network Card shows up twice

I had to reinstall Win98se recently and all went well except the one NIC card I have now shows up twice under Network Neighborhood Properties. Device Manager shows it only once and all seems to work as it should but I have not been able to keep it from showing up twice under NN properties. I tried removing it but it always shows up twice. I am guessing that there is a problem in the registry as before the reinstall this problem didn't exist. Its more of an annoyance at this point but It is now something of a quest to find a solution.

Remove both NIC'S from the network icon in control panel and in system/device manager.
Then reboot your computer

You know I did that a couple of times before with the only difference being I deleted it in Device Manager before removing it in NN. By removing it first in NN then DM it worked like a charm. Thanks for throwing this old dog a bone.
