    Post Mouse cursor MIA

Although I haven't actually seen this happen, a client of mine is complaining that a few times this week his mouse cursor has mysteriously gone missing in action. Although the cursor is no longer visible it is still there, it just makes it real hard to click on anything. What could be the cause of this problem? The machine is an AMD K6-2 500 running Windows 98. Like I said, i haven't seen it do this, every time I use the machine it runs fine.

I have had this happen mostly with video driver or setting problem, like refresh rate that the monitor doesn't *technically* support, but still gives you most of the features. Even though it appears to be working fine, something (like all the icons in the start menu, but not the text) or yes, the mouse cursor can disappear but still work if you have a good imagination

This MAY relate to your problem:

it says that some ATI video cards are the problem.

Thanks for the info, after reading up on the ATI card problem I found a link that pointed out S3 graphics cards may also have this problem if the resolution is higher than 1024x768, or if they are running more than 256 colours at any resolution. Hopefully this should sort it out.
