Flat Screen Flicker
I have a KDS LCD monitor #S3F attached to an HP 6470z. The box uses an onboard ATI Rage Pro Turbo video. The problem is that the screen becomes jittery, or the left side looks smeared. I have tried:
Latest video drivers
All refresh rates
Smaller screen size (makes it worse)
Another LCD screen (same model)
I am thinking a new video card in that I know some older video cards will not run an LCD effectively. Your thoughts before I go out and spend the $50 for a new one?
TIA

Can you hook it up to a non-LCD screen? This may give you a better idea of whether the card is purely bad, or some sort of incompatability is present between the two. If the problem really is compatability, you might be able to check the manufacturer's site, or email them about a solution.

Thanks for the reply. The PC originally had a standard monitor. We are only upgrading. The original monitor (CRT) works just fine, as does other standard monitors.

Yeah I realized that after I had posted the reply. Anyways, the best I can suggest is to check both websites, for the monitor and card. You could try reducing the graphic acceleration under System properties in Control Panel. I don't think that would matter though.

Tried that as well. I did speak with the KDS support rep. Funny thing - they use the SAME computer with the SAME video card that I have. It looks like the onboard video is the problem. I have ordered a new video card and guess we will have to wait and see.
