    Post Help with scanner drivers!!!

I have a HP ScanJet 3300C. I just updated my main graphics editing machine to Win2K without checking the HCL for the scanner. DOH! Drivers only available for $9.95 from HP in CD form. I bought the scanner and have a T1...why can't I d/l the drivers?

    ..on to my question

Are there any drivers I can install to make it appear like a TWAIN32 device? I'm just interested in getting the darn image in Photoshop 5.5, not using their stupid software. I upgraded my machine at work from 4.0 to 2K, and the driver for my 6300 came along fine.

    HELP!!!

Sorry i don't have an answer for you, but i just got a HP cdrw and it wouldn't make bootable cd's with the software, but I could buy software that would do it for $9.95. I wonder if there is a pattern here?

Read my post? That's why I quoted the problem and $9.

As for the pattern, I firmly believe there is one. I have several HP servers at work. I've noticed the support page go from 1-800s and 1-888s to 1-900s at $2.50/minute. Are they trying to get away from personal service? I'm starting another thread about that.

hehehee - you should try ordering spare parts from them, you get charged for ringing and ordering - i have rapidly come to the conclusion that HP stands for hire purchase

HAH! Entirely true. I haven't received the invoice yet, but a tech from Wang (another great company name) had to do some work on an HP server of mine (warranty). They decided to ship him a motherboard with no EPROM chip on it (who checks?). They basically cost him (and me) 3 hours while he tried other parts. It just looked like a server that couldn't boot! After all of that, HP sent the EPROM chip that should have been on the board to begin with and click, hummm..beep! Sunnuvagun. It works.
