tbird 750 + ga 7xie + 2940 cant partition

cant partition my 2 wd hd on adaptec 2940 with tbird 750 and ga 7xie mobo.
tried fdisk and partition manager bu no success.
fdisk gives divide by 0 error
and p manager gives me red screen with error codes.
on other computer no problems
please urgent help

Are you tring to fdisk from a floppy drive, I always make a boot disk and add fdisk to that always works for me.

thanks anna , but i boot from a bootable cd and it didnt helped
