I'd say u might need the 128 bit ver or IE 5.01. I downloaded the entire thing on my hd so if u want it i'll email it to u. It's 58 MB but if u have cable or dsl thats no big deal... Maby after u reinstall the newest ver. of IE it'll help. It helped me few times... but it's not a "SURE" solution, just an idea. With this when u jump on there update site it won't look for some stuff.

I appreciate the offer. I do have a broadband connection. I also have the latest full d-load of IE. This sys is a clean load of Win98SE, which limits my options re: uninstalling IE. I went to the corp/admin site and did wind up going through each file offering, reading and reading and <sigh> reading some more, and individually d-loaded and installed all the appropriate updates one at a time <pant> ! Other activeX scripts seem to install just fine but this one at the update site has really gotten my goat <naaaaahhaaahh>
Thanks again
The grace of God, thru the shed blood of His son Jesus, has brought me this far; and by His continued blessing, my business meets my needs and I continue to grow. Amen

i think there is a way to remove the windowsupdate certificate that was installed when you first went there => removing this will re-install the ActiveX component and should let you enable that.
sorry at the moment i dont remember how.
if i remember in the next 24-48 hours i will post the info (5:38am central time - 7-10-2000)
