    Next Gen DVD Format Wars

    So it seems that HD-DVD and BluRay DVD are gonna be battling it out for Living Room space soon, both have big backers so whats your take on the format wars?

    blue ray will win, sony has plans for it in there psx and ps3, how ya think dvd's got so popular and cheap, thanks to sony playstation

    Its popular b'cause of the whole DVD rental/purchase scene. I hope the higher capacity ones win. The one backed by Toshiba I think?

    Daemon's got a good point. Myself like alotta other people had a PS2 and said, "Well it plays DVDs, lemme rent a couple, you know I outta buy this on DVD"

    also why not go blue ray, blue ray can also do hd dvd or should I say will

    Dvds would not have been as popular/cheap id sony didnt mass produce dvd's/players/media
