    hi

    thanks for that link

unfortunately i've already tried that .. it installs and reboots, but does nothing

i go to device manager - then there is a yelllow question mark next to "other devices"

then when i click that there is a 'Video controller' (VGA compatible) icon with a little yelllow question mark next to it

it says there are no drivers installed for it and i need to reinstall - strangely, when i try to update the driver off of the river cd that worked for everything else, it says one couldnt be found

    ditto for windows update

so ya that TNT2 driver dont work for some reason

    i saw
any ideas - cuz this is the second time i've had to reformat and i know i got it going the last time i just cant remember how

here i've cut and pasted this from a motherboard forum question .. could this be what i have to do? i thought i'd already tried this though already

    help!

Your video driver is here: http://www.pcchipsusa.com/vga/gfxpro_w2K.ZIP
You may also need the ALi driver for your chipset: ftp://www.ali.com.tw/driver/Integrated207.exe
    Dear hudsonsmith--

Thanks again for your response. I loaded the video driver, but not the ALi driver. The video driver does not work. When I tried to load the ALi driver, my system responded by saying that I need to load that ALi driver BEFORE loading the video driver. Should I uninstall the video driver, then load the ALi driver?

Also, in the video driver README file, I am instructed to go to settings, select display, select advanced, select adapter, select properties, select driver, then select update driver. I do not have the "update driver" option on that screen.

Thanks in advance for your response. Best, slant6

Yes, uninstall the video driver, then load the ALi driver.

Don't know why you wouldn't have the update driver option. Are you logged in as administrator? In device manager, is there a yellow ! or ? next to the display adapter?

    Dear hudsonsmith---

SUCCESS! YOU ARE DA MAN! I finally got the damn thing to install and run, and I could not have done it without you! A million thanks! Best, slant6

Did you try the drivers and loading sequence from the quote you posted?
That would seem the best place to start.

I have used several PC Chips (A.K.A. Matsonic, Eurone, etc.) motherboards and have always had problems getting the onboard video to cooperate and work properly. If you absolutely can't get it working, I would suggest getting a decent PCI video card, plugging it into the top PCI slot and changing the BIOS to initialize PCI video instead of AGP (or onboard) video. You may also need to disable onbard VGA (if that option exists in the BIOS).
If you cannot disable the onboard video in BIOS, then install the PCI video and go into Device Manager and disable the onboard video in Windows (I had to do that with a Matsonic M571),

Hope I've helped more than confused you.
    Good luck.

Doesn't that board use the ALI GFXpro chip (M754LMR)?
