hello, i have the same problem concerning the message "no active mixer devices available" and when i open the Add New Hardware window, i see the yellow warning sign next to "Audio device on high definition audio bus" saying i lack the corresponding drivers, but after installing all the drivers for my soundcard, the problem still persists, and as result, no sound, and occasional blue screen crashes caused by ha10kx2k.sys, so those are all my problems, all caused by this damn soundcard.
Soundcard: Creative X-Fi Soundblaster Platinum
Motherboard: p5b Deluxe

Has this sound card ever worked?
What is the error code shown in device manager?
When you reinstalled the drivers, did you uninstall the creative software from add/remove programs first?
What are the numbers and the error message associated with the ha10kx2k.sys BSOD?
Manual uninstall instructions here. For XP you have to click More to the right of PCI soundblaster cards.

Yes it used to work just fine
In add hardware the error message for audio device on high definition audio bus is: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"
Im restarting now after uninstalling the card..

Download the drivers from Creative... it will contain the software you need.
