Any whooooo sounds like you have a good old fashioned hardware modem which attaches to one of the com (serial) ports - thats about perfect!

Can you give us details on you broadband modem?
    Good day to you NooNoo

When modern gadgets are concerned I am lost, thus I call myself
    Dummo

You are ways ahead sorry I won't want to share 'Dummo' with you

BTW my new modem for ADSL Broadband is Thomson SpeedTouch 530.

The modem will live happily along side your broadband.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

just as a interesting point (espessially uk), there has been a lot of mention , regarding , phantom dialers ,,ie porn sites etc , this was highlighted on watchdog last week but one. http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/reports/consumer2.shtml , i actually recieved an email from tiscalli or freeserve , can,t remember which?

i need to keep a dial-up connection on this machine (which is dsl), coz my 2 websites are only accessable (for uploads) thru the originating site owner ,,,ie: freeserve ,, so i have a dial up phone cable here.

when u have finished faxing UNPLUG the std 56/33k modem cable ,,,,,that way u CANNOT get a big bill.

    Hi Noo Noo

It is me again, my friend installed the AcerModem 56 surf external modem via the port of my CPU last Saturday and I managed to fax to my friends and family overseas.

The problem now is I can't receive incoming fax !!!

Can you please tell me do I need a fax modem or a real fax machine to receive fax instead of going through the computer?

    Thank you.
