I predict that the next poster either didn't know or doesn't care that it looks like the Australian Prime Minister's leadership is about to be contested in a spill.

Well, I did not know that. Do I get partial credit because I liked Walkabout and Japanese Story? Restraint?
I predict the next poster is so excited about the iPad 3 and Windows 8 that they can barely stay awake during their daily blog slog.

Not at all! I've been sitting here for the last 45 minutes waiting for a callback from a support droid. However, I predict the next poster is puzzled by how badly the British mangle the English language compared to us Colonials.

I've grown used to their Englandese. That and I've caught on to a lot of it due to my buddies across the pond that I game with on a regular basis. (it's amazing how much the east coast keeps in touch with Europe)
I predict the next poster has more to say on the English topic.

Well if that wasn't an invitation, I don't know what is!
Centre is a French spelling - along with metre, litre and so on. The verb compute is from the latin - you can look up the etymology yourself. The "er" on the end signifies the person/object who/that is doing the action...
So even the French couldn't misspell waiter as waitre because the er on the end refers to what the person is doing. Fortunately there are not that many words ending tre From what I can see, all these tre words are French in origin and brought into use in England by French Kings between 1066 and about 1500
So I guess that's True!
The next person is considering an offer of some description.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."

False. I've already accepted any reasonable offers I've received. In fact, I'd welcome a few more in the pipeline.

False, I was pretty confused as to what was going on. Your answer cleared up that only reading the last sentence was the solution.
