Regarding SATA ports
I have a T6524 Emachine motherboard, which has four SATA ports. I replaced my old power supply for a new 400 wattage, that had the sata plugs...
The issue: My SATA drive isn't being recognized through BIOS at all. I don't know if the SATA ports on the motherboard is completely damaged or what. What can I do to figure out what is wrong with the ports... if there is.. Or how to enable SATA?
Right now my computer is using a PATA hard drive. :x Please help

If your old psu took a crapper, or for other reasons, your Bios may have reset to defaults and it could be it doesn't 'see' the Sata without your changing some Bios settings (quite often you have to set a configuration for Sata as IDE and enhanced operation).

Is this the sata drive that was in the machine before the power supply died?

My power supply didn't die, I had to change it because it didn't have the proper plugs to supply power to the sata drive, and no... I didn't have the sata before..

"The issue: My SATA drive isn't being recognized through BIOS at all."
As I said earlier re a Bios 'BURP", it could be your Bios doesn't 'see' the Sata without your changing some Bios settings (quite often you have to set a configuration for Sata as IDE and enhanced operation).
The other thing to check is, does that mobo (as sold) support Sata?
Nothing evident at the EM site to tell you afaiks!
(as far as I can see)

You just buy adapters not a new power supply. Like this:

One would think that if the motherboard had SATA ports the Board would support it but welcome to E-Machine.
My only suggestion would be to try it in another port, try another cable, and double check the bios. Some of the older mother boards, as CCT says, need the bios setup for sata.
Murphy's Law: If it can be messed up it will get messed up.
