    Harddrive woes

greetings I have a desk top computer I built that has 64 bit windows 7. 8 gigs ram, I3 processor, Asus board and Nividea video card. 500 gig Seagate harddrive. I also installed another harddrive Western digital. When I check bios I have two drives
also Device manager shows it and say`s it is working properly. I navigate to computer and I do not see extra drive. I also was going to update drivers but windows said up to date drivers was already up to date. Brand new harddrive just came out of box. Is it Dead?

It's not dead. It needs to be prepared for use. Right click on computer, click on Manage, click on Disk Management, locate the drive. Double click on it. You will need to initialize the disk. Then you will format it, giving it a drive letter.
